- I've been an Estate Planning Consultant since 2002. It is my second career, previously I was the Finance Director of a manufacturing company in Lancaster, which I closed. Before that I closed a manufacturing company in Chorley. Both times PriceWaterhouseCoopers were the liquidators and I realised I was getting to know their staff in Manchester a little too well. In each of the fifteen years prior to my change of career I was involved in making people redundant. When I closed the business in Lancaster I realised it was time for a change.

- Since 2002 I have been helping people organise their estates so that they are inherited by the people they want to inherit. Additionally I give them advice on how they can protect their estate from Inheritance Tax and long-term care fees. I have also done a lot of work with business owners in advising them on the advantages of including a business trust in their wills. As well as advising people about wills and trusts I always explain the benefit of setting up Lasting Power of Attorney docunments which allow them to appoint people who will look after their affairs if they lost the ability to do so themselves. I advertise my business by making presentations to any interested groups.
